55. Moho-Chisel Tip Marker

Post 55 – Chisel Tip Marker, Moho-styles. 🎄😂

Here we are with our third edition of the 12 Days of Christmas, Moho Style! Last week, we explored Mr. Lion using Light Charcoal. This week, Chisel Tip Marker to build Mr. Frog.

I don’t have a Moho learning video for you this week. Instead, I took a bit of a detour into the more existential side of creativity, inspiration, and what it means to keep learning. I mean is not this video completely alien? This is your brain when you learn something new. 🤯

Things to Know:

✔ 12 Default Line Styles
✔ Chisel Tip Marker

Combustion💫

I heard someone say creativity is what makes us human. Creativity is combustion, it is the moment when what is inside you interacts with what is in the world.

It’s alive.

  • The Fuel is the World: Every experience you have ever had, the raw material.
  • The Oxidizer is YOU: Oxygen is what allows the fuel to actually burn, your dna takes the raw material from the world and “makes” it mean something.
  • The Heat is Learning (and Curiosity): Heat is the activation energy. Fusing the raw material with who you are.

That combustion is not from an algorithm, which is taken from what has happened from past dna and then recombined into something “new.” But that is NOT you, you are the NOW. Your perspective, history, experience, dna is unique to you interacting with the current world around you.

It’s not dead. It’s not over. It’s fresh. It’s new It’s YOU.

Don’t be dystopian and let your brain lie to you that:

  1. Everything that has been drawn has already be drawn… Why draw another bear, lion, frog, moose, etc? it’s redundant.
  2. Every song has been sung, rhyme created, and music composed.
  3. You’re too old.
  4. You’re too young.
  5. There is no point.
  6. ai will do everything better.

NO

Stop that. Don’t listen. Instead, as an act of rebellion, go make something. Anything. Go learn something new. Learn something you will never master in your lifetime. Just because. You are uniquely you with an exquisite blueprint that has never been before and will never be again. You are alive. You are the new dna. You are the now.

NOW go Combust ! and burn bright.

Mr. Frog

Mr. Frog is built with Chisel Tip Marker, I really struggled with this one. I wanted to grab a splatter brush or some kind of texture. It is not easy drawing on the Wacom tablet where my hand is disconnected from the screen, typically I have been managing, but for some reason with this brush it was a little more difficult. I think because of the angle of how the brush sprayed maybe?

Also the froggy shorts gave me so much grief, I started with them as two separate pieces (see pics above), and instantly could not figure out what to bind to what so that they wouldn’t split during the walk cycle. So scratch that, back to one piece. It still wasn’t the best solution, definitely, need to do more learning on clothing.

Post 55 — Afterthoughts

I am not a scientist, and could use a SEO on combustion to flesh out the metaphor more, but either way, my resistance to this dooms day, art is over mentality. Is to learn more. Make more. Maybe I am stubborn? I have never thought of myself that way before. I’m not sure. I do know learning and growing makes me incredibly fulfilled. What else would I do ? Continue to just clean my toilets?

no.

Combustion is the initiator of fire. But, modern science adds a fourth element to combustion, a chemical chain reaction, a fire tetrahedron (the reaction sustains itself once it begins). As it grows, it can even produce offspring by starting new fires with the sparks and intense radiant heat it produces. Well isn’t that neat ? Fire babies! Creativity produces more creativity.

now jump to it 🐸 nik
