Day 37/ 38 – Moho
Brushes, brushes, brushes.
I had fun experimenting with custom brushes, and I ended up making a few multibrushes that someone else might enjoy too. If you’d like the flowers, trees, or insect brushes, just leave a comment or send me an email, and I’ll pass them along.😊
Things to Know:
✔ Explore basic brushes
✔ Create a multbush
Basic Brushes
On the Style Panel, you will see a square that says No Brush, if you click on it you will gain access to a wide variety of basic Moho brushes.

You also have several options to customize the look and behavior of your brush, including aligning the brush to a curve, adding line boil, adjusting angle jitter, varying the size, introducing randomness, drift, and much more. Once you’ve created a brush you love, you can even Save Custom Brush. This saves it to your brush library so it’s always available in the future. If you like creating specialty brushes for different projects, you can quickly access them whenever you need them.
I’ve also been watching several tutorials about Styles and brushes. From what I’ve gathered so far, Styles appear to be universal, while brushes remain independent. I’m still exploring how they work together, so I’ll save a deeper dive for a future blog post.
In the meantime, we took a lovely trip to Newport, and I came home with an equally lovely head cold. So, I’m giving my brain a little time to recover before tackling that topic!

Multi Brushes in Moho
A multi brush will take multiple images and allow you to create a brush from them. To do this locate your Moho content folder.
- File: Open Custom Content Folder
- Open the file: Brushes (If you have saved a custom brush you will see it here)
- Create a new folder
- Name the new folder/brush, whatever you want to
- Add the assets you want to include in your brush (bubbles, flowers, clouds, a swarm of insects, etc. )
- reopen moho
- start a new project
- go to the no brush, click on it
- in the brush settings find your multibrush
- adjust any settings you would like to
- use the free hand tool to draw with your brush.
Day 37 — Afterthoughts
Even with a stuffy head, I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Multi Brush option in Moho. It’s so cool that you can take a PNG file, have it converted into a vector brush, and then add a line boil effect. Of course, I went a little overboard and boiled everything in sight!
I can’t believe I only have one more stop before this journey comes to an end. It’s been an incredible learning experience, I don’t want it to end.
