lifeboost coffee

After building and running a coffee shop, my love for a good cup of coffee endures. Sadly due to health concerns, I have had to bid farewell to caffeine in my morning brew. Many decaf coffees undergo chemical processing, often resulting in a lack of boldness and flavor that leaves much to be desired. Thankfully, Lifeboost Coffee offers chemical free decaf with amazing flavor, a true life-BOOST! I am subscribed to their decaf Medium Swiss Roast on Amazon, which is swiss water processed (chemical free is a must). However more recently, I decided to try their Double Dark Mocha Decaf , and paired with my AeroPress Coffee Maker, it’s an absolute delight—transporting me with every sip! *think a dark Sees candy sucker in a cup.

Lifeboost Coffee had this great little visual descriptive in their ‘about’ section on their website.

As I tip of my hat to this amazing company, I had the idea to craft a little fan art animation, using their existing icons.

The Multimedia Learning Theory suggests that, in general, presenting pictures and text together is more effective than presenting pictures alone or text alone. In this instance, I incorporated Lifeboost Coffee’s own messaging and aimed to animate it, bringing it to life. It’s intriguing how much crossover exists between Instructional Design and marketing. Message design involves the strategic use of text, graphics, and/or pictures to effectively communicate and address specific needs or solve problems (Fleming & Levie, 1993).

Message design is all around us.

In the future, I aim to continue challenging myself to communicate concise messages through animation, while also creating my own assets and messaging. Balancing the development of animation skills alongside the practice of instructional design has proven to be quite challenging. I so wonder how I could have further streamlined Lifeboost Coffee’s messaging, removing nonessential information to more effectively utilize multimedia messaging? Next time.
