On an old episode of the Futur, with Chris Do, the late, inspirational Ker McLaren in Creating a Culture of Creativity, discussed his own unique life/business journey.

“We are all pirates. Everyday we have to get up and sail the seven seas. We don’t know where the treasure is buried but everyday you have to set sail. Willing to fail, willing to take big risk.”

Keir emphasized that many individuals fail to lead their own lives, often unconsciously adopting someone else’s path without taking ownership. He stressed the necessity of assuming responsibility for one’s life, as it is the only life one truly possesses.

With his captivating radio voice, he recounted is diverse business history and a conversation where someone remarked, “Wow, you have kind-of had a crazy life.” To this he responded, “No, I have just had the life I’ve wanted . I have never not done what I wanted to do, I may have paid a price for that, but in the end I have no regrets. I have done what I wanted to do.”

I couldn’t help but recall this podcast while crafting my own infographic, which might appear a bit scattered. However, like McLaren I have been resolute in my pursuit to meaningfully invest in my children, without compromise. While my path might have diverged from convention and carry potential repercussions. I have no regrets. Every step I have taken resonates with my ideals.
