aperture animation.

Mood Board for IDN 529 Animation Lab.

The original idea on this project was to create an animation that introduced aperture, shutter, and ISO to JH or HS students, as part of the exposure triangle. However, having never used AE I quickly narrowed the scope of the project down a simple introduction to Aperture, and creating an interest in the inner workings of photography.

This decision was important, as I knew most of my research would be on how to create an animation in AE, and I would have less time to research a subject matter expert (SME) on another topic.

I tried to keep the animations simple (as a first time AE user); however, I quickly found that I could not get even the simplest shape to freeze in place. It was a very interesting and somewhat frustrating experience to create an entire video without using a, “toggle keyframe.” I badly needed this article, Basic Keyframe Types, by School of Motion.
